Our Story
ALPACARU is a family-run British business with deep family ties to Peru — a country that has been part of our lives for many years and has shaped our appreciation for quality, craftsmanship and natural fibres.
Our interest in alpaca wool grew naturally through that connection. We have spent meaningful time in Peru, experienced its culture first-hand and learned more about the long tradition of working with alpaca fibre. One of our relatives also worked with the manufacturer we now source from, giving our family a personal connection to the people, skills and experience behind the products we select.

Why alpaca?
What first drew us to alpaca wool was the way it feels.
There is a softness to the touch, a gentle warmth and a lightness that make it feel instantly special. We also love the quiet sense of balance and calm that beautifully made alpaca textiles bring to a room or to everyday wear.
For us, these are not simply products to own. They are pieces chosen for their comfort, texture, warmth and understated elegance — things that can be enjoyed every day and still feel special.
We choose each piece carefully, looking for beautiful colour, softness, finish and a quality we would be proud to have in our own home or give to someone we love.

Although ALPACARU is based in the UK, our connection with Peru remains an important part of the business.
We have visited over the years and plan to continue doing so, both to visit friends and relatives and to deepen our understanding of the products, people and traditions behind the collection.
